BIOGRAPHY

Jean Paul Troili, born in Sabina in 1947, began his career as a make-up artist under the guidance of Paolo Manzoni. He worked between Rome and New York, collaborating with prestigious fashion houses and publications such as Valentino, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, L’Officiel, and many others. He worked with celebrities including Carol Alt, Iman, Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall, Claudia Schiffer, Romy Schneider, Maria Callas, Barbra Streisand, and Glenda Jackson.

Over time, he paired his work in make-up with a growing passion for the design and staging of exclusive events, weddings, and gala evenings held in historic Italian residences. His signature is recognizable in the meticulous attention to scenography and in the use of flowers, lighting, candles, and atmospheres inspired by Renaissance art.
Among his most celebrated works are the staging of the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and the creation of the “Atelier del Gusto” at Palazzo Venezia, in the Sala Regia. The setting evoked Renaissance aesthetics through the use of lighting, smoke, fragrances, and floral arrangements.

Today, Troili is regarded as one of the leading creators of atmospheres in the luxury events scene, renowned for his ability to blend aesthetics, history, and taste into unique compositions.

Wedding of the stars

Among the many events created by Jean Paul Troili, celebrity weddings hold a place of special importance. His ability to craft evocative scenography and timeless atmospheres has led him to design some of the most renowned celebrations, such as the lavish wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano. This complex setup was coordinated in just fifteen days and required hundreds of candles, Renaissance-inspired decorations, and a perfect balance between light, flowers, and historic architecture. His experience in noble residences and historic palaces has enabled him to create iconic events, marked by an almost theatrical attention to composition and detail.

EVENTS

Over the course of his career, Jean Paul Troili has designed and staged some of the most prestigious events on the international scene, distinguished by refined taste, artistic sensitivity, and exceptional scenographic skill. In addition to the renowned wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at Odescalchi Castle, Troili curated Marella Agnelli’s 80th birthday celebrations, events for the Fürstenberg family, receptions for Princess Aldobrandini, and the Elkann–Borromeo family wedding. Each event was conceived as a unique work, built around luminous atmospheres, references to art history, and meticulous attention to detail, transforming every venue into a memorable experience.
